I love, love. There are many different types of love. I know the powers of love. I know that as we serve others love will come to them. I know that as we love with a Christ-like love, others will be able to feel of His love for them through us. Love can change a person’s heart. I know that the Savior loves each and every one of us. I know that true love can come to each of us. I know that lust is very much so the opposite of love, and that it can drown out the ability to feel real love. I know that if this ability fades in us that we can find a way to feel it again, through the infinite love of the Savior.
“The Lord is in all of our lives. He loves us. He wants to bless us. He wants us to seek His help. As He guides us and directs us and as He hears and answers our prayers, we will find the happiness here and now that He desires for us.” President Thomas S. Monson, Consider the Blessings, October 2012 General Conference
“Let us resolve to follow the Savior and work with diligence to become the person we were designed to become. Let us listen to and obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit. As we do so, Heavenly Father will reveal to us things we never knew about ourselves. He will illuminate the path ahead and open our eyes to see our unknown and perhaps unimagined talents.” President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Of Regrets and Resolution, October 2012 General Conference
“We all search for happiness, and we all try to find our own “happily ever after.” The truth is, God knows how to get there! And He has created a map for you; He knows the way. He is your beloved Heavenly Father, who seeks your good, your happiness. He desires with all the love of a perfect and pure Father that you reach your supernal destination. The map is available to all.” President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Your Happily Ever After, April 2010 General Conference
“As you prayerfully seek to glimpse this future for yourself and to communicate it to the young person one on one, you will come to know that God loves each of His children as individuals and sees great and unique gifts in each of them.” President Henry B. Eyring, Help Them Aim High, October 2012 General Conference
“With the help of the Lord, we can repent and change and be more loving and helpful to children—our own and those around us.” Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Protect the Children, October 2012 General Conference
“Christian love. The Savior valued everyone. Kind and compassionate to all, He left the ninety and nine to find the one, for “even the very hairs of [our] head are … numbered” to Him.” Elder Robert D. Hales, Being a More Christian Christian, October 2012 General Conference
“My beloved brothers and sisters, I am not certain just what our experience will be on Judgment Day, but I will be very surprised if at some point in that conversation, God does not ask us exactly what Christ asked Peter: “Did you love me?” I think He will want to know if in our very mortal, very inadequate, and sometimes childish grasp of things, did we at least understand one commandment, the first and greatest commandment of them all—“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.” And if at such a moment we can stammer out, “Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee,” then He may remind us that the crowning characteristic of love is always loyalty.” Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, The First Great Commandment, October 2012 General Conference
“We have a life of devoted discipleship to give in demonstrating our love of the Lord.” Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, The First Great Commandment, October 2012 General Conference
“Their lips say, “I love you.” Their bodies say, “I want you.” Love is kind and wholesome. To love is to give and not to take. To love is to serve, not to exploit.” President Spencer W. Kimball, Love vs. Lust, BYU Publications 1975
“However costumed or made up, lust is no substitute for love; actually, brothers and sisters, it chokes out the development of real love, causing “the love of many [to] wax cold” (Matt. 24:12).” Elder Neal A. Maxwell, The Seventh Commandment: A Shield, October 2001 General Conference
